Overview of Opportunity

HETA is a not-for-profit charity which delivers apprenticeships, standardised training courses as well as bespoke upskill training courses. These services are provided to companies of varied size and structure – from sole traders to multi-nationals, including well known household names. The organisation was established over 50 years ago, in 1967 by a group of local companies to bridge the gap between industry and education.

The Visual Marketing Intern will help design and create audio and visual aids to be used by the Sales and Marketing team, developing them for the purpose of delivering marketing campaigns. Linking up with an existing marketing team that are accomplished in digital and traditional marketing methods, providing visual aspects of marketing – offering fresh ideas and skills to the team by utilising your camera and visual equipment skills (HETA have their own equipment to provide for the role, including camera, mics etc). This initial internship has the opportunity to progress to a permanent position at HETA, if deemed a successful at the end of the agreed duration.

Role Description

  • Working closely with an existing marketing team to identify upcoming campaigns which require media content
  • Storyboard videos which can be used for social media, and present these to the marketing team
  • Shoot footage and edit into short commercial videos (HETA have the required equipment including camera, microphones etc.)
  • Provide narration where necessary
  • Refresh HETA’s photo library
  • Create content in the form of news stories to aid with HETA’s objectives

Skills and Experience (Essential):

  • Strong knowledge of social media, in particular Facebook & Instagram
  • Previous exposure of operating a camera & visual equipment (in education, employment or recreational/hobby)
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Have an organised & structured approach
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Creativity & enthusiasm
  • Successful candidate will need to go through DBS check (to be provided by HETA, at no cost to the intern)

Skills and Experience (Desirable):

  • Good IT skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Flexibility and access to own transport preferred, but not essential, to enable travel between sites easily etc
  • An awareness of marketing strategies and reaching target audiences

Qualifications:

  • A recent graduate or current finalist in any subject to be considered, combined with a strong knowledge and passion for marketing

  • Yes, this internship has the potential to progress to a permanent role
