Overview of Opportunity

Peak Earth is a small consultancy consisting of experts in sustainability and net-zero carbon providing financial models and commercial advice for low-carbon energy infrastructure projects.

Sustainability will be a huge industry over the next three decades. This opportunity will provide you the chance to enter a small entrepreneurial team of talented people – with less structure and more autonomy available in comparison to a bigger firm, providing great insight and experience into what it takes to run a small company. The role will be based at C4DI (an incubator in Hull city centre that helps tech companies grow, and traditional businesses innovate), although you do not need to be there every day – hybrid home working is fine, depending on capability etc.

Peak Earth is currently in a transitional period, reshuffling its product offering and expanding into 3 new areas: developing edible landscapes using regenerative (sustainable) farming techniques; building sustainable homes centred around people; helping companies to develop their commercial propositions for their sustainability products.

Due to these expansion plans, Peak Earth is investing in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to help manage marketing/sales activity and its supply chain. Peak Earth is looking for someone who can bring marketing expertise, strategy, processes, and discipline to the business.

Role Description

  • Work closely with Director Bob Barnes to develop marketing strategy and processes, and to implement the new CRM – leading on this with your marketing knowledge and expertise. The new CRM system contains several apps that will help run the business, requiring app set up and understanding
  • Support in the development of the Business Model Canvas and Value Proposition Canvas for the work streams – focusing on potential customers, pain-points, competitors etc
  • Support the director when liaising with key stakeholders, including external business opportunities, by providing appropriate tools/graphics/literature/story etc
  • Working closely with an external design agency with regards to a fresh website overhaul – fully functioning/Google Analytics etc
  • Analyse and develop current and new digital marketing methods. (Current methods are LinkedIn and word-of-mouth)
  • Posting on social media – providing content creation for the literature, websites, social media and other marketing channels as you feel necessary
  • Support Peak Earth to maximise the opportunities in its existing networks
  • Opportunities for further self-development and guidance within marketing may also arise, forming from existing connections and relationships already known to the business

Skills and Experience (Essential):

  • Diligent, Flexible & Reliable
  • Great spoken and written communication skills (allowing for liaising with internal and external stakeholders)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong Marketing knowledge, including CRM understanding, digital marketing skills and an appreciation of sales processes
  • Very capable with software
  • Exceptionally well organised

Skills and Experience (Desirable):

  • Previous exposure to the following CRM Software; Zoho One, Zoho Bigin or similar
  • Good graphic knowledge and capabilities
  • Previous marketing experience utilising Social Media platforms

Qualifications:

  • A finalist or graduate in Marketing (or similar) to be considered
  • A finalist or graduate in any discipline, combined with extensive marketing expertise to also be considered

Potential for Permanent Employment (if applicable):

  • It is hoped that the required exclusive duties will be completed within the internship, but it is possible that a permanent position could be secured
