Overview of Opportunity
Burton Constable – an Elizabethan mansion house with collections, Georgian stables and Capability Brown parkland was saved for the nation in 1992 by the National Heritage Memorial Fund. It has over seven-hundred years of fascinating history and, more importantly, an exciting and inspiring vision for its long-term future.
An exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Events Intern to drive and develop the marketing and communications programme to raise the profile of Burton Constable Hall and Grounds.
You will also work with the team at Burton Constable to deliver and develop the annual programme of onsite events, including outdoor cinema, craft fairs, classic car rallies and a range of children’s activities during school holidays.
Role Description
Responsible for delivering an innovative results-driven marketing programme to improve all aspects of income generation at Burton Constable Hall and Grounds and for developing and managing an annual programme of outdoor events and a programme of holiday activities for children.
Skills and Experience (Essential)
- A thorough understanding of marketing techniques, including print and digital campaigns
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent digital and social media skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Advanced IT Skills (including Microsoft Office)
- Proficient in using key marketing systems, including WordPress, Mailchimp, Online ticketing systems, scheduling tools and analytics
Skills and Experience (Desirable)
- Passion for all things digital – social media, photography, video creation, etc
- A keen eye for detail, design and presentation
- An understanding of audience segmentation
- The ability to gain new knowledge and skills quickly
- Problem solving skills, and ability to work on own initiative
- Knowledge of relevant legislation; marketing codes, data protection, copyright and model release
- A proven track record in creating, using and editing content for different outputs (web, social media, PR, email marketing)
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to influence, advise and negotiate at all levels within the organisation and with external agencies
- Strong organisational skills being able to manage multiple priorities and varying pressures to meet measurable targets and deadlines
- A strong understanding of the importance of online presence and ways to promote visits to the website and social media channels
- Work with and maximise opportunities with partners, relevant organisations and local initiatives
Qualifications
We are open to any degree specialism but would like to see a creative aspect to this.

- 12 week internship with the opportunity of permanent role post internship for the right candidate.
