8.30am to 4.30pm Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours per week

Duration:

12 week internship, with the opportunity to turn permanent if internship deemed successful

Overview of Opportunity

SHE Knows is an independent organisation which has access to years of expertise in several areas including health, safety, environmental, fire – offering safety training and professional consulting services for the Occupational Health and Safety Industry.

SHE Knows provides safety, health and environmental training to large corporations, small businesses, groups or individuals in the UK and Internationally. With the ability to also join forces with a number of independent professional safety consultants to offer a wide range of worker certification programs and consulting services, which meet the special needs of today’s construction, retail, business, heavy chemical, oil and gas environments.

The role of Management Trainee is new to the business, created to provide someone with access to all areas of busy functioning office. Being guided by and supporting the directors of the business in the day to day operations; liaising with customers in various capacities, providing key administration duties and learning a number of skills involved in the running of a small and successful business.

Role Description

  • Working closely with senior management, in a close-knit office environment – learning all aspects of day to day operations
  • Liaising regularly with SHE Knows customers; providing marketing information, course booking confirmation/enrolment, invoicing, issuing certification etc
  • Supporting SHE Knows staff and consultants in the smooth running of courses/consultancy services
  • Learning and performing daily office duties; build up a working knowledge of company accounts package and administrate it daily (invoicing etc), providing accurate quotations using company quotation system, uploading learner and course details on various systems, documenting internal operating procedures plus any other relevant administration tasks
  • Working closely with SHE Knows tutors; creating and printing training materials/tests, confirming bookings and creating course registers etc
  • Undertaking learning to progress yourself and ambitions, utilising a number of internal and external qualification opportunities and attending professional development meetings
  • Any other duties and task relevant to developing management skills, enabling the eventual takeover of the office management over time

Skills and Experience (Essential)

  • Hold excellent IT Skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office software and other online systems (Windows, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
  • Have excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Have excellent customer service skills and strong business acumen
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Be flexible in your approach, adapting to the workings of a fast-paced office environment
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Hold a positive attitude at all times, with a desire to learn and develop – undertaking further training and qualifications as relevant etc
  • Full driving licence and access to own transport is an essential requirement for this role

Skills and Experience (Desirable)

  • An interest or knowledge of Health, Safety, Engineering or Construction in any capacity
  • Knowledge and expertise in company databases and/or procurement systems

Qualifications

  • A degree level qualification in any discipline to be considered

Potential for Permanent Employment 

  • This role has the opportunity to turn permanent if internship deemed successful
