Overview of Opportunity

We are a Branch of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) and we’ve been here for animals since 1824. We’re the world’s oldest and largest animal welfare charity, with the primary focus of rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals in Hull and East Riding.

The role of Digital Fundraising Officer will be exciting and varied; you will be responsible for building a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Database of our donors, supporters and individual giving champions, as well as keeping all our supporters close to what we do. This is a unique opportunity for an intern to work on a wide variety of fundraising initiatives, helping raise vital funds through the power of digital media to underpin our work in animal rescue, rehabilitations and care.

Role Description

  • Developing new fundraising digital systems
  • Building a programme of engagement to grow fundraising income
  • Planning and implementing events, campaigns, social media engagement and supporter communication
  • Utilising strong digital skills and understanding of a variety of online platforms; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube etc
  • Helping implement, maintain and grow a new CRM database & system

Skills and Experience (Essential):

  • Excellent digital skills with experience of using a variety of online platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube etc
  • Previous exposure to a CRM database or similar
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with positive team working ethic
  • Someone willing to take the initiative and proactively engage with supporters

Skills and Experience (Desirable):

  • Previous exposure to/knowledge of; Fundraising, Events Fundraising, Events Marketing, Fundraising Marketing, Supporter Engagement, Charity, Not for Profit (NFP), Individual Giving, Events and Community Fundraising, Trusts and Foundations, Corporate Fundraising etc


  • Any degree considered combined with a strong marketing knowledge
  • An interest in or previous exposure/knowledge of fundraising/charitable sector desirable
