Hours:
37.5 hours per week (8am-5pm Monday-Thursday and 8am-1.30pm Friday)
Duration:

Company Overview
Cablepoint Ltd has been operating in Hull since 1991. It is a limited liability company that occupies 15,000 square feet of manufacturing area, including office for administration, engineering and warehouse area.
Cablepoint Ltd is a SME. There are two distinct functions of the business. Sub-contract manufacturing of electromechanical products offering a range of services to a broad spectrum of markets and a Packing Operation.
The business was formed in 1972 under the name of Alveronic, specialising in the service and repair of computers and peripherals. Alveronic was acquired in 1984 by MBS Communications, which grew rapidly to become the largest PC dealer/distributor in the UK. As part of this service a cable assembly division was formed. A downturn in MBS fortunes saw the cable assembly division being sold to its current ownership in 1991 and was renamed Cablepoint Ltd.
The company has grown with the technological changes of the last 30 years. In 2008 the management of the business changed hands and the growth of the business since has been due to the diversity and number of the customer base.
Cablepoint’s greatest selling point is the quality of product and customer care.

Role Description
We are looking for someone who will bring knowledge and energy to the company. You must be an individual that cares about the quality of work you produce and strive to learn/improve your knowledge in engineering techniques.
We will provide training and give you the opportunity to learn about manufacturing processes of cable looms
- Time in the stores area learning about the product.
- Time on the bench working on cables.
- An overview of the quotation process.
Skills and Experience (Essential)
- A sound knowledge of PowerPoint.
- Good written English (clear concise and grammatically correct).
- Good communication skills.
- Good mathematics and engineering knowledge.
- Energetic and caring approach with the ability to finish projects on time.
Skills and Experience (Desirable)
- Sourcing connectors and cable
- Ability to read customer drawings and interpret them
- Produce manufacturing process sheets
- Investigate and improve the manufacturing process and introduce new machinery opportunities.
Skills and Experience Opportunities
- Learn to operate all machinery (packing, ATM, ARTOS etc).
- Look at the design of customer product and put forward improvements.
- Possibility of designing a product for CP – EV charging units.
Qualifications
- Recent Graduate, an engineering degree specialism would be advantageous.

- This is a 12 week internship with the view to a permanent opportunity for the right candidate
