Role Title: Graphic Designer

Hourly Rate: £9.50 per hour
Hours: 35 hours per week
Duration: 12 week internship with the potential for permanent role for the correct candidate

Overview of Opportunity
Since 1997 Matthew Nicholson, managing director, has continued to grow a business within the sign-writing industry. Starting out before vinyl, plotters & large format printing became the demand, he sign-wrote using the ‘traditional technique’ which consisted of paint & a brush.
Now in 2020, Matt Vinyl Graphics Ltd specialises in vehicle livery, with investment of the latest technology we design, manufacture & install vehicle graphics, through our team of graphic designers and fitters. We support our customers to promote their company and brand through our innovative designs, whether it be a local haulage firm or an internationally renowned music-executive on tour.
We are now looking to recruit a new Graphic Designer to join the team on an initial 12-week internship, with a view to a permanent position for the right candidate. This is an ideal opportunity for someone wanting to learn the ropes, with a view to progressing within the company to project and client management in the future. This will also include the design of signage and moving forward will be looking to design bespoke wallpapers.
Skills and Experience (Essential)
- Experience working on Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop. (Matt Vinyl Graphics work on CadLink programme Signlab 10.0, the candidate will be required to learn this & show enthusiasm to do so).
- Candidate must have a basic understanding in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc).
- Candidate will be required to answer customer phone calls, place orders/take deliveries & have good customer service skills when dealing with customers & suppliers face to face.
Skills and Experience (Desirable)
- Candidate must show a willingness to learn about our products, different media’s, printers & show a keen interest within our industry.
- Design work will include vehicle graphics & full vehicle wraps, banners, signage & wallpapers.
Progression
Initially, the candidate would be required to work solely on design work, we would then expect the candidate in time to move towards working on quotes & customer interaction developing their own customer portfolio.
