Internships Explained

To secure a HIP Internship you have to be aged 18+ and live in Hull, East Riding, North or North East Lincolnshire.

You need to be a full time student studying at under graduate level or have graduated from a Degree level (or equivalent) programme of study in the last 12 months.

The best way to find out what roles are on offer this summer is to register with HIP. And as soon as roles are available in April you’ll be the first to know.

All HIP internships are paid.

You will be paid by the company who recruits you, this will be agreed during the recruitment process.  How much will depend on the business, the skills they require and what the role entails.

No, you could be an undergraduate/graduate at the University of Hull or you might be studying with another Humber based college/institution; you might have graduated in 2021 or even be studying distance learning with an online provider or provider outside of the region –that’s all fine- but to secure a HIP Internship you have to live in the Humber (Hull, East Riding, North or North East Lincolnshire).

Once you land a 12 week summer internship, you can expect to start work in June.

Yes, the HIP Team will work year round to find internships. So, if you register today you will be able to see internship opportunities throughout the year.

Yes, if the company has a permanent opportunity you will be able to apply for it, your experience will be a great benefit if this happens.

If you are a continuing student when you do a HIP Internship we will have to make sure this doesn’t take you away from your studies or effect your graduation.
